Security forces have launched a massive hunt to trace two personnel of the paramilitary SSB reported missing in Assam since last week.
Special teams of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and state police have fanned out in the Chirang district and other areas from where the two unarmed personnel went missing on December 6.
"We are undertaking massive efforts to trace our boys. We have sought help from Assam police and local administration," SSB chief Arun Chaudhary told PTI.
The force has also alerted it's formations along the Bhutan border to keep extra vigil on the movement of militant outfits, including the Songbijit faction of the banned NDFB, in order to find a clue about the two personnel.
The two missing jawans have been identified as Nakul Chandra Medhi and Anil Chandra Jadav and they were part of the civilian wing of the force which undertakes godwill missions in border areas.
Five SSB jawans had gone to Kahitama on bicycle to patrol the area in the morning of December 6 and while they were returning to their camp at Sikhlaijhar in Panbari area after crossing Sakua river, the two went missing.
