Mathrubhumi group launches seventh radio station in Alapuzha

Club FM, the radio division of the Mathrubhumi Group, has launched its seventh radio station in Alapuzha, the media group said Tuesday.

The radio station was launched Monday, the birthday of popular Malayalam poet and lyricist Vayalar Ramavarma, a press release from the group said.

The station would be aired on the frequency 104. 8 FM and offer authentic information for day-to-day life, round-the-clock entertainment and music programmes to the Malayalee diaspora, the release said.

Popular cine actor Kunchacko Boban is the brand ambassador and face of the new station.

The launch function was attended by Boban, who was the chief guest, along with Mathrubhumi managing director M P Veerendra Kumar, managing editor P V Chandran, joint managing director M V Shreyams Kumar, R Jaideep (DGM Club FM), and Bharathi Amma, wife of Vayalar Ramavarma, among others, the release said.

Speaking on the occasion, Shreyams Kumar said Club FM is a sunshine brand cherished for its zest, positivity and humour, and Club FM 104.8 would also share the same qualities.

"We have put in exhaustive research in identifying the stations positioning and developed a programming mix that will deliver an enjoyable experience for our listeners. We look forward to delighting listeners with innovative content and presenters will be industry first on radio," he said.
