Mathura Nagar Palika chairperson showcaused

A showcause notice has been issued to Mathura Nagar Palika chairperson over alleged financial irregularity to the tune of Rs 1.7 crore in tendering process and subsequent running of sewage treatment plant and sewage pumping station.
District Magistrate Nikhil Chandra Shukla said Manisha Gupta, who represents BJP, has been asked to file her reply within 15 days.
"She has been asked to explain the cause of irregularity committed while adopting process oftendering," he said.
Shukla said it would be deemed "she had committed irregularity knowingly if the reply is not received within a fortnight".
