Mathura's veterinary varsity to train 'Pashu Mitra'

The state government has chosen a veterinary institution here for imparting training to 'Pashu Mitra' in order to help farmers provide better health care to their animals.
Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Pashu-chikitsa Vigyan Viswavidyalaya Evam Go-Anusandhan Sansthan VC KML Pathak said, "First batch of training for 60 Pashu Mitra, would start from August 1."
He said this is also an effort to generate employment and make available experts at the farmers' doorstep.
The 'Pashu Mitras' duties include monitoring of animal husbandry schemes at village level, timely vaccination of cattle and artificial insemination among others.
"Besides, getting opportunity of self employment, youths would also work for improving health, guiding proper nutrition and upgradation of cows," he said, adding it would prove boon for the 'Kamdhenu Scheme' of the state govt also.
