The new project will air on HBO and expand Damon and Affleck's relationship with the channel, where they executive produce a revival of their documentary filmmaking series "Project Greenlight", reported Deadline.
"Thirst" is written by Charles Leavitt ("Blood Diamond") and directed by Elliott Lester ("Nightingale").
The two stars will serve as exec producers alongside Elliott, Josh Weinstock, Jennifer Todd and Drew Vinton while Charles and Margaret Chernin will co-executive produce.
"We are extremely pleased to continue our collaboration with Matt and Ben. As two of today's most gifted filmmakers, they are once again using their cinematic talents to bring awareness to this pressing global issue," HBO programming president Michael Lombardo added.
