Purryag will visit Wajidpur village in the Punpun block where his forefathers had once lived, Kumar told reporters.

The dignitary will be accorded a grand public reception in his native village where he will interact with distant relatives and their families, he said.

The chief minister left for Wajidpur village to inspect the preparation for the visit.

He said that Purryag had enquired from the state government about various details of his ancestral village which were promptly provided to the latter to clear the decks for his visit next week.

Earlier, former Mauritius prime minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam had visited his native village in Bhojpur district in 2008 followed by the visit by Trinidad and Tobago premier Kamla Persad-Bissessar to Bhelupur village in Buxar district this year.
