MauritiusPM inaugurates AYUR Herbarium project in Goa

Prime Minister of the Republic of MauritiusAnirood Jugnauth today inaugurated AYUR Herbarium project in North Goa, an initiative by the pharmaceutical major in association with Union AYUSH Ministry.
Jugnauth inaugurated the project at the property of Sandu Pharmaceuticals Ltd at Saligao village, 10 kms away from here.
The Mauritian Prime Minister along with his delegation is on a tour of India to reciprocate the cordial invitation of delegates of Goa government, who visited the island country in the recent past, a government spokesperson said.
"The Goa government and Government of Mauritius are actively collaborating on various projects related to healthcare, Ayurveda, medical tourism and tourism. It is an interesting fact that apart from our cultural similarities, both countries have similitude in the wealth of medicinal flora and fauna," the official said.
The project was part of this bonding, he added.
Union AYUSH Minister Sripad Naik was also present on the occasion.

Goa's deputy chief minister and Health minister of Goa Francis D'Souza, directors of Sandu Pharmaceuticals Ltd Shashank Sandu and Umesh Sandu were also present on the occasion.
The medicinal herbarium is a fascinating collection of various Ayurvedic medicinal plants exhibited with informative details of medicinal properties and uses of each herb.
