"UP government is rubbing salt on the wounds of the drought-hit people of Bundelkhand. They are doing politics on water by creating controversy," he told reporters here.
He expressed confidence that BJP would sweep UP assembly polls, and charged the state government with creating hurdles in the Centre's development programs.
Maurya, who turned 47 today, offered prayers at the disputed shrine here, seeking divine blessings for BJP in forthcoming assembly elections.
"Ram Mandir will not be our election agenda but I pray to Ram Lalla to remove all hurdles to the construction of the temple," he told reporters here.
