As part of the pact, the two companies will set up a centre of excellence for cancer treatment and a training institute to bridge talent shortage and advance oncology care skill set.
"It (partnership) is a joint initiative to create systems which are India centric," Max Healthcare MD and CEO Ajay Bakshi told reporters here.
The centre of excellence and the oncology training institute would be set up at Max' Saket hospital, he added.
The partners would also collaborate on various other areas, including research on cancer and deploying new technologies to treat the disease.
"Through this partnership with Max Healthcare, we aim to understand the fingerprint of specific cancers in India and co-develop disruptive solutions," GE Healthcare President and CEO John Dineen said.
Max Healthcare Chairman Oncology Harit Chaturvedi said the collaboration with GE Healthcare would help to bring together clinical and basic research to find new solutions to treat cancer.
