Chandigarh recorded mercury at 34.2 deg C, down by three degrees below normal with a rainfall of 6.6 mm, MeT department said here.
Haryana, Hisar, Narnaul and Bhiwani recorded maximum at 38.8 deg C, 37 deg C and 38.2 deg C respectively.
Ambala had a high of 34 deg C down by three notches below normal while Karnal had a high of 33 deg C, down by three degrees.
In Punjab, Amritsar recorded maximum at 36.8 deg C while Ludhiana and Patiala had a high of 33.6 and 34 deg C, down by up to 4 notches below normal.

Meawnhile, water level in Bhakra reservoir crossed 1600 feet mark following rain lashing various parts of northern region including Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.
Water level in Bhakra rose to 1602.16 feet, which is 68.85 feet more than the level in corresponding period of last year, said Punjab government release issued here today.
The inflow of water in Bhakra reservoir was 64,894 cusecs against 39,986 cusecs last year.
In Pong dam, water level reached 1321.83 feet which is 25.96 feet more than the level recorded in corresponding period last year.
Inflow of water in Pong dam has been recorded at 33,584 cusecs against 11,184 cusecs on the same day last year.
Similarly, the water level in Ranjit Sagar Dam on June 26 touched 513.13 metre mark which is 13.60 metre more than the water level recorded last year on the same day.
Water inflow in Ranjit Sagar Dam is 20,196 cusecs against 112,93 cusecs.
