Chandigarh, the joint capital of the two states, recorded a maximum temperature of 32.6 degrees Celsius, a MeT report said here.
In Haryana, Ambala received 29.3 mm of rains. It's maximum temperature was 33.1 degrees Celsius while Hisar recorded a high of 35.2 degrees Celsius, one notch below normal.
Karnal recorded maximum of 32.2 deg C, one degree below normal and it received rainfall of 1.8 mm.
In Punjab, Amritsar, which received 11 mm of rain, recorded a high of 32.4 degrees Celsius while Ludhiana and Patiala registered maximum of 33.1 and 33.2 degrees Celsius respectively. Patiala received 16.2 mm of rain.
