Max temperatures hover above normal levels in Pb, Haryana

Maximum temperatures hovered above normal levels in Punjab and Haryana today even as rains lashed several parts of the region.
With muggy weather conditions prevailing in the city, Union Territory Chandigarh recorded the maximum temperature at 33.9 deg C, two degrees above the normal, a MeT department report said here today.
The city recorded rainfall of 0.3 mm in the past 24 hours.
In Haryana, Ambala and Bhiwani recorded maximum temperatures of 34.9 deg C and 36.6 deg C, respectively, two degrees above the normal.
Hisar, Karnal and Narnaul recorded rainfall at 9.1 mm, 4.2 mm and 5 mm, respectively. Their maximum temperatures settled at 36.5 deg C, 35 deg C and 33.5 deg C, respectively.
In Punjab, Patiala and Ludhiana received rainfall of 90 mm and 1.5 mm, respectively, in the past 24 hours. Their maximum temperatures were recorded at 35.1 deg C and 34.5 deg C, respectively. Amritsar recorded a high of 36.9 deg C.
The MeT Department has predicted light to moderate rains at few places in Punjab and Haryana in the next 24 hours.
