Max temperatures hover below normal in Punjab, Haryana

With light rains lashing some areas in the region since yesterday, maximum temperatures today hovered below normal limits at many places in Punjab and Haryana.
Chandigarh recorded a maximum of 31.6 degrees Celsius, down by one notch against normal, a MeT department report said.
In Punjab, Amritsar recorded a high of 27.4 degrees Celsius, down four notches, while in Ludhiana the maximum temperature was 30.4 degrees Celsius, three notches below normal. In Patiala the maximum temperature settled at 34.4 degrees Celsius.
In Haryana, while Ambala recorded a high of 34.6 degrees Celsius, in Karnal the maximum temperature was 33 degrees Celsius. Hisar recorded a maximum temperature of 36.2 degrees Celsius.
According to the MeT Department forecast, light rains, thundershowers are likely to occur at isolated places in the two states until tomorrow.
