Maximum temperatures stayed close to normal in most parts of Punjab and Haryana today, with Chandigarh, the joint capital of the two states, registering its maximum at 33.8 degrees Celsius.
In Haryana, Ambala, Hisar and Karnal recorded their maximums at 33.4 degrees Celsius, 37 degrees Celsius and 32.5 degrees Celsius respectively, the meteorological department said.
Maximum temperatures in Bhiwani and Narnaul were 36.6 degrees Celsius and 33.8 degrees Celsius respectively.
In Punjab, Amritsar's maximum settled at 35 degrees Celsius while Ludhiana and Patiala recorded a high of 34.2 degrees Celsius and 34.4 degrees Celsius respectively.
The weatherman has forecast light to moderate rains at isolated places in the two states till tomorrow.
