Maximum temperatures today hovered slightly above the normal levels in most parts of Punjab and Haryana.
Union Territory Chandigarh, the joint capital of both the states, registered its maximum at 36 degrees Celsius, as per a MeT department report.
Among other places in Haryana, Ambala, Hisar, Karnal recorded their respective maximums at 34.2, 36 and 33.2 degrees Celsius.
In Punjab, Amritsar's maximum settled at 35.5 degrees Celsius while Ludhiana and Patiala recorded maximum temperatures of 33.4 and 35.3 degrees Celsius respectively.
