Union Territory Chandigarh, joint capital of Punjab and Haryana, recorded a maximum temperature of 37.3 degrees Celsius while it received rainfall of 0.7mm, a MeT department report said.
In Haryana, Ambala, Karnal and Narnaul recorded maximum temperature at 38.1 degrees Celsius, 36.8 degrees Celsius and 38.5 degrees Celsius respectively. Hisar's maximum was 40 degrees Celsius.
Ambala and Karnal received rainfall of 0.3 mm and 2.6 mm respectively.
In Punjab, Amritsar, Ludhiana and Patiala recorded maximums at 38.5 degrees Celsius, 36.2 degrees Celsius and 37.2 degrees Celsius respectively.
