Maximum temp hovers below normal limits in Punjab, Haryana

With light to moderate rains lashing several areas of Punjab and Haryana, the maximum temperatures today hovered below normal limits in the region.
The maximum temperatures ranged between one to eight degrees Celsius below normal in most parts of Punjab and Haryana, the MeT office said here.
Patiala was drenched by 9.1 mm followed 9 mm at Bhiwani, 4 mm at Hisar, 3.2 mm at Ambala, 1.7 mm at Chandigarh and one mm at Karnal.
While Amritsar received 25 mm of rains, Ludhiana was drenched by 8.3 mm of rains.
Narnaul settled at 33.2 degrees Celsius, which was highest in the region. However, the maximum at Narnaul was one notch below normal.
Hisar had a high of 32.1 degrees Celsius, four notches below normal while Ambala and Bhiwani settled at an identical high of 31.4 degrees Celsius, two notches each below normal.
Karnal had a high of 31.4 degrees Celsius, one notch below normal followed by 31 degrees Celsius at Patiala, two notches below normal, 30.5 degrees at Chandigarh, two notches below normal, 29.3 degrees at Ludhiana, four notches below normal and 27.4 degrees at Amritsar, eight notches below normal.
According to the MeT forecast, light to moderate rains will occur at a few places in the region during the next 24 hours.
