Hitting out at BSP supremo Mayawati for criticising the Centre over the rise in LPG price, UP BJP chief Mahendra Nath Pandey said today that her concerns for the poor seems to be "laughable".
The BSP chief said earlier today that instead of extending relief to the poor, the BJP government is only concerned about the wealthy for whose benefit the prices of petroleum products are being constantly hiked.
"Those who are deeply concerned about their family while sitting in closed rooms, and busy knitting opportunistic alliance, their concern for the poor seems to be laughable," Pandey said in a statement issued here today.
The governments led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is integrating the backwards, deprived, Dalits and poor with the mainstream, who had been deprived of facilities for past several decades, he said.
Through Ujjwala Yojana crores of women have got rid of smoke (emanating from chullahs while cooking), and it has paved a way for self-respect and good health, Pandey said.
Sharpening his attack on the BSP chief, the UP BJP chief said, "But, the BSP supremo who is always worried about wealth and does politics in the name of poor and Dalits, is unable to see these (welfare oriented schemes)."
