"There are/were certain officers in the JMC who deliberately supported illegal construction. They were supposed to check such construction and encroachments but instead they promoted it and encroachments flourished in their mentorship," Khandelwal said at 'Meet the Press' programme at press club here.
She said that a former CEO of the JMC and a few other officials including those posted in Vigilance Department did not fulfill their responsibility properly hence illegal constructions flourished.
"Vigilance department is also not active and this scenario can be changed only when stern action against them is taken and I am contemplating to move to judiciary with the names of corrupt official in next two-three months," she said.
Khandelwal, who is the first directly elected Mayor of the city and is from Congress, also blamed the opposition BJP, which has the majority in the board, of stalling public interest activities and cleanliness of the city in particular.
