MBA student among 3 held for armed robberies

Three youth, including one pursuing MBA from Symbiosis, Pune, have been arrested for their alleged role in a string of armed robberies in NCR region, police said today.
As per police, Shahbaz Ahmed (23), Upendera Gupta (29), who studies MBA at Symbiosis, Gautam Koli alias Jony (21), were apprehended by the police on Wednesday from near Govt Boys School, Basai Dara Pur, after it received a tip-off about them.
Police have recovered one pistol with three live cartridges, a car (used in robberies), four gold bangles, 5 rings, 2 gold tops, 2 gold chains, 1 mangal sutra, 2 pendant and a Rolex wrist watch.
The gang came under the police scanner after one Narendera Bhalla reported that on October 12 he was sleeping in his room when a youth came with a pistol and after hitting him robbed his diamond ring and took out Rs 2,000 from his purse while another person held his mother and servant captive in the house at gun point.
On resistance, Bhalla was hit on his face and head by the butt of the pistol by one of the assailants. Thereafter, both the attackers locked all three inmates in the house and decamped with laptop, mobile phone, cash Rs 25,000 and other valuables, police said.
During interrogation, the three persons reportedly confessed about the commission of the offence apart from some other robberies in Delhi and Noida (UP). As per their disclosures, raids were conducted at their houses and recovery of stolen goods was made, police said.
