The accused has been identified as Tapan Tulo, native of Nabrangpur in Odisha, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) S Varada Raju told reporters.
Tapan, an engineering graduate who is pursuing an MBA course at a college in Bangalore, had posted a placement advertisement on a website and provided two fake e-mail addresses and a mobile number for contact, following which around 70 unemployed youths, including some B Tech graduates had contacted him.
However, when the youths came to know the reality, two victims from Visakhapatnam, B Ramesh and Y Venkata Satish Kumar lodged a police complaint at a city police station.
"Based on the account details and the ATM card number of the accused, a team of city police arrested Tapan from Bangalore," a police officer said, adding further investigation is on.
