MBA students of IIT-Kgp get average salary of Rs 11 lakh

In a record time of one week, almost all students of the Vinod Gupta School of Management at IIT Kharagpur have got jobs averaging Rs 11 lakh, officials said.
In the first phase of placements which ended recently, out of 103 students, 102 got placed and within a week's time the placement session was completed.
The average salary was Rs 11 lakh, IIT officials said.
Highest compensation (CTC) so far has been 20.47 lakh per annum with 70 per cent of the students securing a package of above 11 lakh.
Major participants in the recruitment process this season include Amazon, Tata Motors, National Instruments, Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd, Juspay, Deloitte, PWC, IBM, Virtusa, Cognizant, Wipro, ICICI bank, Axis Bank, Rolls Royce, etc.
Deloitte recruited the highest number of students.
Placement process will enter into its second phase in January where more companies will try to improve the earlier job offers.
"Last year we took 20 days to achieve this feat. This year, with the coordinated effort from the batch, we have been able to do this in less than half that time," said Prof Prabina Rajib, Chairman, Placement Committee of the management school.
