Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has decided to give Rs two crore cash reward to its triumphant Ranji Trophy team for winning the coveted crown for the 40th time in January.
This was announced at the MCA's AGM by its president Ravi Savant.
MCA had earlier announced that the winning team members would be given Rs 3 crore as bonus in addition to the Rs 2 crore prize fund they would receive from the Cricket Board.
Mumbai thumped Saurashtra in a one-sided final at the Wankhede Stadium to regain the crown after a gap of two seasons.
All the affiliated clubs of MCA would be entitled to 10 tickets for each Indian Premier League match to be played at the stadium which is the home venue of IPL franchise Mumbai Indians after a resolution to this effect was passed.
A resolution to name the media centre at the Wankhede Stadium after the late Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray could not be taken up at the AGM on a point of technicality as it had to be discussed first by the MCA's managing committee, approved and then tabled before the general body.
It was also announced that MCA faced an income tax burden of Rs 55 crore.
Former MCA, BCCI and International Cricket Council president Sharad Pawar was a notable attendee at the AGM amid speculations that he was keen to return at the helm of MCA at the elections that are due in a few months' time.
