Justice Rajiv Shakdher gave the order after the Sarojini Nagar police station house officer told the court that the matter has been referred to the Special Cell, set up earlier to look into the issue of blast victims.

The Special Cell would complete the process to issue the certificate in the name of victim as his family has claimed that he was in the market on the date of blast in 2005 and is missing for past seven years which is equivalent to death, the SHO said.

Accepting the SHO's submission, the court asked police to complete the process in two days and also asked the MCD to issue the death certificate in three days.

Seeking a compliance report from them, the court posted the matter for December 20.

The bench was hearing a plea from a minor girl Manisha Dass claiming that when she was eight year old, her parents and brother had died in the blast.

In her plea, she said her father Michael John's body was not found and the authorities have denied the release of compensation to her for her father's death.

Seeking direction to authorities, she said her grand parents have been looking after her and they are facing financial difficulties but when they approach the authorities for the compensation they were denied the same on the ground that the body of her father was not found. MORE
