The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections are due in April and councillors and senior party leaders, across party lines, are leaving no stone unturned to make most of the time before the model code of conduct kicks in.
The erstwhile MCD was trifurcated in 2012 into North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC), South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) and East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC). BJP has been ruling the MCD for the last 10 years.
"Online services to register or renew trade/health trade licence have been started at northdmctradehealthlicense.Com as well," North Delhi Mayor Sanjeev Nayyar said.
Traders constitute a significant chunk of voters in Delhi, besides residents of unauthorised colonies. The ruling BJP and opposition Congress are working hard to set the ground ahead of the crucial municipal polls, in which AAP is making its debut.
