The center is a joint initiative of Union Health and Welfare ministry, State Health Society and Piramal Swasthya (formerly known as HMRI).
The objective of setting up of the MCTS call center is to undertake case specific monitoring to ensure complete Antenatal Care (ANC) services, delivery services and postnatal Care (PNC) services and monitoring of full Immunization services to pregnant woman and child through the database collected from national health mission (NHM) web portal.
The first ever innovative web based service was kick-started with the first phone call to a new mother at Wakro in Lohit district by Tacho followed by the second call to a new mother at Daporijo in Upper Subansiri by Health and Family Welfare secretary Indra Mallo.
Mallo advised the new mother to avail the Chief Minister's Universal Health Insurance Scheme.
He further added that only outgoing calls would be operational now and helpline would also be started shortly for more effective tracking and rendering quality services in accessible areas of the state.
Health and Family Welfare special secretary Dr T Thomas, Director of health services Dr K Nishing, Director of Family Welfare Dr G Tatu and Director medical education Dr M Jini were among others present on the occasion.
