"We abhor terrorism being linked to Islam... The terrorists falsely justify violence being perpetrated by them across several countries in the name of religion, which does not preach violence in any form or against any one," Sheikh Saleh Mohammed Ibrahim Al Talib told reporters here.
Charging terrorists, who justified their actions by invoking religion, with bringing bad name to Islam, he said that such elements have no religion.
"If they (terrorists) claim that their violent actions are prescribed by their religion, then they should not have attacked and maimed their fellow brethren," Talib said.
Islam represents peace, amity and has respect for other religions, he said.
Saudi Arabia abhors terror activities and provides vital inputs and leads to other countries about terror activities. In many cases, attacks have been nipped in the bud due to crucial information shared by Riyadh with other countries, he said.
