Medal winners from TN in Asian Age Group champ get rewards

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami today announced cash incentives totalling to Rs 16 lakh to three sportspersons from the state who won medals in swimming events at a competition in Uzbekistan.
Palaniswami lauded P Vikas, V Leonard and S Dhanush for winning medals, including gold, in the swimming event of the recently concluded 9th Asian Age Group Championships 2017 at Tashkent in Uzbekistan.
Vikas had won four medals including one gold, while Leonard also bagged one gold medal, Palaniswami said.
Dhanush bagged a silver medal, the Chief Minister said in a statement, and expressed joy over the swimmers bringing laurels to India and Tamil Nadu.

He announced a cash incentive of Rs 9.50 lakh for Vikas, Rs four lakh for Leonard and Rs 2.50 lakh for Dhanush.
Palaniswami also announced a total sum of Rs 2.40 lakh as incentive to the respective coaches of the three sportspersons.
