Medanta to set up super speciality hospital in Qatar

India's Medanta Medicity has signed a MoU with Doha's Humanis Group to set up a multi-million dollar super speciality hospital in Qatar.
The signing took place in New Delhi on March 25 during the visit of the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and his official delegation to India.
Prominent heart surgeon and chairman of the Medanta Medicity Naresh Trehan signed documents on behalf of the India-based group while Doha's prominent NRI and ENT specialist Mohan Thomas represented Humanis Group at the signing.
Thomas said each of the dignitaries present at the signing agreed to provide their wholehearted support for the 500-bedded hospital project.

He said the hospital would be designed to meet the fast growing requirements of Qatar whose population has grown manifold in less than 12 years.
The ceremony was attended by Qatar's Minister of Economy Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed al-Thani, India's Secretary (East) in the ministry of External Affairs Anil Wadhwa and Indian ambassador to Qatar Sanjiv Arora, Gulf Times reported.
