"This is a first initiative of its kind since our inception. It will ensure 24X7 round the year emergency medical response as well as an easy access to best health care for our nearly 8,500 members," CINTAA secretary Sushant Singh told PTI.
He said the idea behind reserving a bed at Seven Hills Hospital, located at suburban Andheri, for CINTAA actors is to offer them best health options at a highly discounted price.
He also said that the association is working towards providing medical insurance for its members at lowest premium.
He said CINTAA's key objective has been to safeguard the interest of film and television artistes.
"CINTAA endeavours to secure compensation for its members in cases of accidents under Workmen's Compensation Act," Singh said.
CINTAA member and actor Hemang Palan said the move to provide medical aid is a welcome step as actors are vulnerable to accidents and injuries during shooting.
