Medium sugar firms up on good demand, seasonal offtake

Medium sugar prices firmed up further at the Vashi wholesale market here today on sustained offtake from stockists and retailers supported by strong seasonal offtake.
On the other hand, small sugar variety remained in a rangebound trade due to alternate bouts of buying and selling.
Medium sugar (M-30) spurted by Rs 20 per quintal to Rs 3,312/3,472 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 3,292/3,472.
Small sugar (S-30) was quoted at Rs 3,176/3,290 per quintal as against Rs 3,202/3,272 previously.
Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,312/3,472 (Rs 3,292/3,472).
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,176/3,290 (Rs 3,202/3,272).
