Another Rs 51.82 lakh was recovered from MACT (Motor Accident Claims Tribunal) cases in eight different courts yesterday.

Though the fixed target was for settling 3515 cases, the courts settled 1328 cases, Cachar District and Session Judge Bishnu Debnath told PTI today.

Stating 14 booths were created to solve the cases, Debnath said summons were sent to parties of 385 MACT cases and 234 of them were settled.

Cachar Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Ramen Barua told PTI that this special court was arranged under the instruction of the Gauhati High Court.

The Mega Holiday court-cum-Lok Adala was arranged to solve the problem of the high number of pending suits in the courts, Barua said.
