Meghalaya Governor, CM greet people on Diwali

Meghalaya Governor K K Paul today wished the people of the state 'greater peace' on the eve of Diwali.
"I convey my warm greetings and good wishes to the people of Meghalaya," Paul said in a greeting released to the media.
He said he sincerely hope that this joyous festival will usher in "an era of greater peace and prosperity" for all.
Chief Minister Mukul Sangma who also greeted the people ahead of the festival wished that it strengthen the bond of communal harmony and ensure peace and prosperity amongst all.
Meanwhile, security in and around the state capital has been beefed up to ensure that the festival of lights is celebrated with pomp and gaiety, a police officer said.
