Warjri had tendered her resignation yesterday but her resignation is yet to be accepted, Sangma told the House on the first day of the six day-long Winter session here.
"It is a fact that Home Minister has tendered her resignation letter. I tried to prevail on her to continue in office and I have not accepted her resignation letter," Mukul said when Opposition Meghalaya People's Front (MPF) questioned the reason for her relinquishing her post.

Later, speaking to reporters the chief minister said, "I will talk to her (again) and I will try to convince her to continue as the Home Minister since she is one of the most dedicated and committed cabinet colleagues."
Warjri's resignation has fuelled rumours of leadership crisis in Congress.
