Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma today said his government will strive to strike a balance between economic activities and environment protection.
The chief minister's comments came in the backdrop of the impact of an NGT ban on coal mining in the state four years ago.
Speaking in the state Assembly, Sangma said, "I want to stress on the fact that this government realises the importance of the economic activity of coal mining in our state, and it is very important that this must continue."
