Former actor Meghan Markle's mother, Doria Ragland, is expected to speak up about the racial abuse their family faced since her daughter got engaged to Prince Harry.

Ragland is believed to do an unprecedented interview with media mogul Oprah Winfrey, Mirror Online reported.

It is said the duo met for six hours last weekend at Winfrey's California hacienda and discussed ideas for the sit down.

The interview will take place if Buckingham Palace gives a go-ahead.

The news comes barely a fortnight before Markle, 36, is set to tie the knot with the 33-year-old royal at St George's Chapel, Windsor.

The "Suits" alum's father Thomas, 73, is Caucasian and Doria, 61, is African-American.

Markle herself has spoken about the jibes she was subjected to due to her relationship with Harry.

Last November, she said it was "disheartening" to receive negative attention about her ethnicity in the initial days of her relationship with the prince.
