Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today inaugurated the newly developed Maharaja Hari Singh park on Tawi banks in the winter capital.
Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh was also present on the occasion.
Spread over 43 kanals of land, the park has been developed at a cost of Rs 4.72 crore and the main features of the project comprise aesthetically laid walking tracks, children swings, ornamental sheds, benches, dustbins, open air gym besides beautifully laid flower and rose gardens.
The chief minister asked Singh, who also holds the charge of Department of Housing & Urban Development, to identify more spaces in the city which could be developed into parks and green spaces for the convenience of people.
Mehbooba unveiled a statue of Maharaja Hari Singh inside the park. She also inaugurated a coffee house and a refurbished library within the park premises.
