Expressing concern over the increasing fatalities in road accidents, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today directed all the enforcement agencies concerned to sternly deal with cases of overloading and other traffic violations.
She particularly urged the DGP and IGP Traffic to enforce stringent measures to check overloading of transport vehicles and over-speeding, an official spokesman said here.
Mehbooba also expressed grief over the death of four persons in a road accident in Poonch and wished speedy recovery to the injured.
Four people, including two women, were killed and seven others injured when the vehicle they were travelling in from Khanetar to Poonch skidded-off the road and fell into the deep gorge near Khanetar.
The Chief Minister also conveyed her sympathies to the families of the four persons who were killed in a separate road accident near Samba on Jammu-Pathankote highway on Saturday, the spokesman said.
