Raising the issue during Zero Hour, Avtar Singh Karimpuri (BSP) said dalits in village Baldpur in Sangrur district were subjected to violence at the hands of the police and then jailed over a dispute on their claims on a panchayat land.
"The rules were violated to deprive them from giving their right in the panchayat land. The dalits were subjected to beating up at the hands of the police in which several of them were injured. They were also jailed and an FIR has been registered," Karimpuri said.
"Atocities are being committed on dalits in Punjab under the Akali-BJP government in Punjab. The Central government should intervene and dalits be given justice," he said.
