A alleged rape-victim, on her way to a court hearing today, was attacked with an acid-like chemical by two unidentified motorcycle borne youth, police said.
The 18-year-old woman, who was on foot at the time of the incident, was attacked by two persons who escaped, they said.
The woman was on her way to attend a court hearing in connection with the rape case.
The woman had alleged she was raped by a youth from Jammu in a hotel here last year, police said.
She was rushed to the Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH) in sector 16 for treatment, police said, adding the matter was being investigated and the woman's statement being recorded.
The incident took place in an area near the PGIMER and Panjab University.
Police said the woman did not sustain any serious injury, but was under treatment after she complained of a burning sensation in her eyes and face.
