Mentha futures remain weak, slide 0.18 pc on low demand
Press Trust of India New Delhi Continuing its losing streak for the fourth day, mentha oil prices drifted further lower by 0.18 per cent to Rs 935 per kg in futures trade today.
The fall in prices was mainly because participants engaged in trimming positions, tracking a weak trend at spot market on tepid demand from consuming industries.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in April fell by Rs 1.70, or 0.18 per cent, to Rs 935 per kg in a business turnover of 1 lot.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in May shed 40 paise, or 0.04 per cent, to Rs 943.50 per kg in 65 lots.
Analysts said, offloading of positions by traders following subdued demand from consuming industries in the spot market against ample stocks position, mainly kept mentha oil prices down at futures trade.
