Mentha oil prices were down 0.92 per cent to Rs 925.80 per kg in futures trading today due to a weak trend at the spot market and lower demand from consuming industries against higher supplies from major producing belts in Uttar Pradesh.
However, expectations of lower output capped the losses.
At Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in September fell Rs 8.60, or 0.92 per cent, to Rs 925.80 per kg in a business turnover of 448 lots.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in October weakened Rs 8.40, or 0.88 per cent, to Rs 938 per kg in 107 lots.
Analysts attributed the fall in mentha oil prices to weak demand from consuming industries in the physical market against higher supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh.
