Mentha oil futures drifted by 0.39% to Rs 714.10 per kg today as speculators locked-in gains at prevailing levels amid slackened spot demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in September declined by Rs 2.80, or 0.39%, to Rs 714.10 per kg in a business turnover of 169 lots.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in August traded lower by Rs 2.80, or 0.39%, to Rs 703 per kg in 373 lots.
The fall in mentha futures was mostly due to profit- booking by speculators after recent gains and sluggish demand in spot markets from pharmaceutical units, analysts said.
