Mentha oil prices were down by 0.46 per cent to Rs 723.60 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits amid subdued spot demand.
Besides, adequate stocks position following increased arrivals from Chandousi in Uttar Pradesh also kept prices lower.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in December fell Rs 3.40, or 0.46 per cent, to Rs 723.60 per kg, with a business volume of 141 lots.
Similarly, mentha oil prices for the January 2015 delivery drifted by Rs 3.40, or 0.46 per cent, to Rs 735 per kg, with a business turnover of 59 lots.
The fall in mentha oil prices at futures trade was mostly due to profit-booking by speculators and weak trend at spot market on subdued demand, marketmen said.
