Mentha oil prices were down by 0.78% to Rs 896.10 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits amid subdued spot demand.

Moreover, adequate stocks position following increased arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh also kept prices lower.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in December fell Rs 7.10, or 0.78%, to Rs 896.10 per kg, with a business volume of 157 lots.

Similarly, mentha oil prices for January 2016 delivery drifted Rs 5.80, or 0.63%, to Rs 909.50 per kg, with a business turnover of 34 lots.

The fall in mentha oil prices at futures trade was mostly due to profit-booking by speculators and weak trend at the spot market on subdued demand, marketmen said.
