Mentha oil prices fell by 0.10 per cent to Rs 765.90 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced their positions amidst low demand from consuming industries in spot market.

Adequate stocks position in spot markets on increased supplies from producing belts further fuelled the downtrend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in February shed 80 paise, or 0.10 per cent, to Rs 765.90 per kg in a business turnover of 224 lots.

The March contract traded lower by 20 paise, or 0.03 per cent, to Rs 776.40 per kg in 18 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators on the back of subdued demand from consuming industries in the spot market mainly led to the decline in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
