Mentha oil prices softened by 0.26 per cent to Rs 733 per kg in futures trading today as speculators reduced positions, triggered by sluggish demand from consuming industries in the spot markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange market, mentha oil for delivery in January month fell by Rs 1.90, or 0.26 per cent to Rs 733 per kg in business turnover of 41 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in February contracts traded lower by Rs 1.80, or 0.24 per cent to Rs 743.60 per kg in 84 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators amid low demand from consuming industries in the spot markets mainly influenced mentha oil prices at futures trade.
