Mentha oil down by 0.3% on sluggish demand

Adequate stocks position on higher supplies also affected prices

Mentha oil fell for the second straight day and prices were down by another 0.34% to Rs 944.40 per kg in futures market today as traders indulged in reducing their positions amid slackened demand from from consuming industries at spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in September month fell by Rs 3.20, or 0.34% to Rs 944.40 per kg in business turnover of 104 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in August contracts shed Rs 2.50, or 0.27% to Rs 933 per kg in 445 lots.

Analysts said besides subdued demand from consuming industries in the spot market, adequate stocks position on higher supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, mainly kept mentha oil lower at futures trade.
