Continuing its losing streak for the third day, mentha oil prices fell by another 0.57 per cent to Rs 868.20 per kg in futures trade today as traders engaged in trimming positions, triggered by easing demand from consuming industries at spot market against ample stocks.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in far-month June fell by Rs 5, or 0.57 per cent to Rs 868.20 per kg in a business turnover of 29 lots.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in May moved down by Rs 4.60, or 0.53 per cent to Rs 861.60 per kg in 295 lots.
Analysts said offloading positions by participants due to sluggish demand from consuming industries in the physical market against adequate stocks positions kept mentha oil prices lower at futures trade.
