Continuing its losing streak for the third day, mentha oil prices fell 0.62 per cent to Rs 958.50 per kg in futures market today as speculators trimmed their positions amid weak demand at the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in May month drifted lower by Rs 6, or 0.62 per cent to Rs 958.50 per kg in business turnover of 126 lots.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in June contracts shed Rs 3.40, or 0.36 per cent to Rs 930.30 per kg in 13 lots.
Marketmen said offloading of positions by traders owing to slackened demand from consuming industries in the spot market against sufficient stocks position on increased arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly kept mentha oil prices down at futures trade.
